For a die hard mustang fan it’s not only surprising but shocking that someone can replace Mustang engine with Toyota Supra 2JZ. Well, it’s been done but for the better. After performing at the WCHRA in April with Toyota Supra 2JZ-Powered Ford Mustang, Jaw’s Gear and Axle has taken the vehicle to SCE Summer Nationals at Famoso Raceway with no prior testing and has achieved an eight-second quarter mile.

As already stated Jaw’s Gear and Axle’s Mustang doesn’t have the original engine but a Toyota Supra 2JZ-GTE turbocharged inline-six motor which is a rock solid bullet proof with the ability to handle high HPs with ease. As a result the Ford Mustang powered by the Supra motor boasted a best time of 8.962 @ 159.37 SCE Summer Nationals.

Parts for this project were supplied by the Titan Motorsports, fabrication skills from Enterprise Motorsport’s, engine building from Dave’s Engine’s and technical knowledge from Black Sheep Racing’s John Reed. All these chaps together have put in their best of efforts to make a Ford Mustang Hybrid that outshines bad ass Mustang using an unconventional powerplant.
